TRIVIA EP. 36 – DOLPHINS SLEEP

Nazareth Guild Trivia Video – Starring Eli

Eli is a 5th grader at St. Aloysius. Thank you Eli for your trivia question about dolphins.

When dolphins are sleeping, only half of their brain is asleep. The other half stays alert in order to enable the dolphin to know when they need air. Dolphins sleep with one eye open and one eye closed. To learn more about dolphins, go to us.whales.org.

The trivia question asked when a dolphin is sleeping, how does it know when to come up for air?  The answer is one half of their brain is awake while the other half is sleeping.
